I'm sorry, but playing the shift with runners in scoring position is indefensible.

If Howard could that on purpose, he'd be really scary good.

Larry Anderson just said on the radio that it went through because the 3B was at third because of the guy at second, and that's why the run scored.

Which is why it's indefensible. There's a hole in the infield defense a hundred feet wide, with a flashing neon sign that says, "Free Run Here."

Padres are hitting the ball in the air to the wrong field. The jet stream usually runs out to left center when the sun is still out.

Wind's apparently blowing from left to right.

You suck, Giles.

If you are not going to score runs for Maddux, atleast ####### play defence behind him.

You don't suck, Hairston.

Aww, you slow ####.

You really don't suck, Hairston.

I am becoming a Hairston fan too. Scott, not Jerry!

I think broadcasters have gotten wise to the reflexive profanity, 'cause he clearly let out a big one after that pitch to Werth, and I didn't hear a thing.

This team sucks so hard. I can't stand being subjected to it every fifth day.
