The Padres will abuse Schmidt so badly tonight, the Vatican will have to step in and pay him millions in settlement fees.

#### you J.T. Snow. That was an embarrassment yesterday. I have to root for the Giants here. If the Padres win, they will be back to .500. It would be terrible if San Diego doesn't lose at least 82 games this year.

5-0 in the sixth. Very nice. I think it's safe to say that, if they win tonight, the Padres will be performing a baseball first: clinching a division title on a day when their winning percentage stands at .500.

Now I can take my wife and our two-year-old daughter to Friday's game without having to stress over the Padres' playoff chances. It'll mostly be a chance for the little one to run around on the grass back of the bleachers. Pure fun.

The Padres won their fourth division title in franchise history. That doesn't sound too bad for an expansion team.
