Shannon Stewart DH? Yep, the Jays didn't need Frank Thomas at all.

Also: Chasm indeed! I am getting worried about the injuries piling up all of a sudden, though. Here we go again...

Is this Chavez's first game back?

Well, at least I went to last night's game, and not today's.

(I'm gonna throw this out there: Dana Eveland, not that great. Spotty control, not missing a ton of bats, seems to top out around 90-91. He had a great minor league track record and people talked about how solid his stuff coming over, but I'm not sure that I've seen that yet. I'd still rather have Gaudin in the rotation.)

Jack Cust needs to stop thinking "Go" on the base paths.

Well that's gonna be thegame. Sweep Boston, drop 2 of 3 to Toronto. The A's don't ever make sense.

It's pretty rough to lose to a team that's DHing Shannon Stewart and playing Marco Scutaro at first base.

How about Alex Rios picking the best possible game to turn in this line:

1st inning: Grounds into inning-ending double play.
3rd inning: Grounds into fielder's choice.
4th inning: Strikes out (swinging).
5th inning: Grounds into inning-ending double play.
7th inning: Grounds into double play.

Of the Jays' first 21 outs, 8 were off of the bat of Rios. I guess that's not that unlikely, what with all the baserunners Toronto has had.
