Clint Thomas

The “Hawk” was an all-around fine player.

Comments. Definitely better than Chaney White, he had more power and speed on the bases, and was probably the better defensive outfielder (in the two seasons they played together, Thomas played center, while White shifted to the corner). His black and gray ink scores are comparable to those of Dobie Moore (who achieved his, of course, in sig. fewere seasons) and Dick Lundy (who achieved his while playing a great defensive shortstop). If he had hit like he did and been a great defensive infielder, he might have a HoM case. Hitting like he did and playing a possibly great defensive center field, he's a candidate for the Hall of Very Good as Cool Papa Bell lite.
