Hall of Merit group set up on Yahoo

The group has been set up on yahoo, we’ll use this to send messages, register voters, etc.

The subscribe, send an email to Don’t forget to remove NOSPAM from that address.

To send a message to the group, use

I’m not sure how this will work, I only sent two invitations, because it didn’t have an easy way to get to the address book unfortunately. Go to the link above for the home page for the group. Post any questions, etc. here.

I was able to subscribe just by going to the link and clicking "subscribe."

Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention. What will we be doing there and what will we be doing here?

That's so I can have a registered list of voters, and so I can send messages off to the group, things like that. Almost all discussion will still take place here, it's mainly for things like reminders, hey we're going to vote this week, don't forget, stuff like that. Mostly for housekeeping.

At the expense of looking like a doofus, what's the listowner address for?
   4. scruff Posted: November 15, 2002 at 05:03 PM (#511125)
No idea. I think it's attached to my email so I get notifications when people join, stuff like that.

Thanks, Scruff.

Now I can be a doofus about something else. :-)

I think we should. A Clutch Hit is probably in order, for maximum exposure.

Also, anyone not registered yet really should.

Joe:

If we registered "way back when" at the beginning of this project, do we have to register again? I'm a little confused. I get e-mails from the Hall of Merit group already, so I'm assuming I don't need to do anything new.

By the way, I'm probably registered as "ChapelHeel" which is the name I was using to post before I realized everyone was using their real names. :)

I'm in the same boat Jeff. Does this mean we're registered?

Do you have to register to vote in order to have your ballot accepted?

For this election, only if you submit after the website upgrade. Registration is must for all other elections.

I would definitely register for this election if I were you just to be on the safe side.

I would like to join the group and vote in elections, but I would like to have access to WARP numbers in order to have a more rounded basis for analysis. Is there a free source of historical data available?
Thank you.

Welcome, Kelly in SD!

Try this for the WARP numbers: Baseball Prospectus

Joe,
I'm wondering if I can re-join the HOM project. I've been gone for about 20 elections due to excessive workload and I'd really like to get back involved. Would it be possible for me to start voting in 1949 or do I need to do anything special to be re-initiated?

Just start voting. Welcome back.

What Daryn said, Carl. Good to have you back!

I'd like to join and have my votes count and all that fun stuff. I've registered with the Yahoo site as instructed above; is there anything else I need to do?

(I saw the amendment re new voters, but it's unclear to me whether it's actually in effect or not--and, if it is, where this fabled Ballot Committee I need to go before is located.)
