Jose Cardenal was Eddie Vedder's favorite player when Vedder was a kid. That's got to be worth an extra 5 career Win Shares.

So is Eddie really singing "Even Fro'?" ;-)

He had some good years, but:

Made the majors at age 19, became a regular at 21. Had the following OPS+ to start his career while playing CF.

87-109-83-101-89-104-90-88

Then did an Andre Dawson: Moved to the Cubs and to RF. Had 5 straight years of ≥100 OPS+, but never over 125. That doesn't quite rate a "yippee" from a RFer. Career 102. He did steal some bases.

How the hell did this guy get 2000 games and 7600 AB+BB?

That's awesome.

Now, if Eddie's idol had been Willie McCovey, then it would have been "Weaven Fro'." :-D

I thought about mentioning Willie's toupee on his own thread, but decided against it in case he or his family happened to view it. It didn't seem like the proper honor for him.

Maybe if by some miracle a certain catcher catches a bunch of votes and gets elected along with Stretch, it'll be the Quincy-Toupee election?

lol

I guarantee you that if by chance that would happen, that wont be my headline for the election results. :-D

Well, how about Toupee-Trouppe?

Not even that one, Marc. :-)
