It’s never too early

to think about next year.

The Eastern League schedule for 2009 is out, and the Bowie Baysox will be home during the time frame just before the SABR Convention in DC. The Baysox have home games against Connecticut scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, July 28 and 29.

Last year we discussed renting a sky suite for a Primate/SABR Convention meetup for one of those games, and I’d still like to do that if we can get enough people who are willing to chip in and cover the cost. I think it would be kind of cool, although if the cost is prohibitive we can always downgrade to the picnic pavilion or the tailgate party tent.

If you’re interested, and think you’ll be in DC for the convention (or live in the area), drop a post here.

There are plenty of cheap seats available there without the need for a skybox. The biggest hassle is getting all of us out to Bowie during rush hour. Still, I'm definitely interested (the last time I saw a game in Bowie, I enjoyed seeing Denard Span eating a sandwich in the outfield and being shocked that Pat Neshek threw in the 90s; the time before that I remember thinking that Hanley Ramirez was very overhyped because his head sure wasn't in the game).

Will:

I'm not suggesting that we NEED a skybox; I'm suggesting that it might be fun to get one, if we can get enough guys together who are willing to spend some money on something other than poker :) Obviously we can do a group thing regardless.

Mike,
I'd be interested but probably just on Wednesday.
