Louisvulle underwent a wholesale transfusion. Frank Menechino, Jacob Cruz, and C John Castellano were released; Terrence Long joined the club from extended spring, Ray Olmedo and William Bergolla were activated from the DL, and Mike Venafro was signed to a minor league deal and sent to the Bats. P Tom Shearn was sent to extended spring.

In addition to the Van Buren recall, the Paw Sox added Hee-Seop Choi on rehab.

Indianapolis activated Raul Gonzalez from the DL.

Oakland recalled Bobby Kielty from Sacramento. The River Cats activated INF Nate Espy from the DL.

Texas optioned P Erasmo Ramirez to Oklahoma, who placed P Derek Lee on the DL.

KC released P Justin Huisman, signed P Frank Brooks to a minor league deal, and sent him to Omaha.

Houston recalled Ezekiel Astacio, signed P Travis Driskill to a minor league deal, and sent him to Round Rock.

Harrisburg activated OF (and former Rule 5 pick) Tony Blanco.

Visalia placed INF Josh Asanovich on the DL, activated P Jarod Matthews from the DL, and added C Colt Simmons from extended spring.

Rome signed INF Derrick Arnold as a free agent.

As I noted in the Dugout, the Braves are about to sell minor league P Wes Obermueller (at Richmond) to Orix (Japan). Rochester P Ryan Glynn also recently departed for Japan.

I think Erasmo was outrighted, not optioned.

Yep. He was DFA'd to make room for Rick Bauer earlier. My mistake.
