Blue Jays released P James Baldwin. P Shaun Marcum was recalled from Syracuse to take A.J. Burnett's roster spot, and P Ryan Houston was promoted from New Hampshire to the Sky Chiefs.

As expected, Jeremy Guthrie was recalled by Cleveland from Buffalo. Rafael Perez was sent back to Akron.

The Mariners called up P Clint Nageotte and DFA'd OF Joe Borchard.

I was at Game One of the Syr-WB double header along with perhaps 200 other people.

Kevin Barker motioned for me and my friends to suck it after we heckled him like crazy for four innings. He made two horrible errors and eventually we had the entire stadium against him. Sort of like a scene out of Major League.

I also got to see my favorite player, Jason Phillips. He hit into two double plays.

Thought you'd appreciate that Mike.

Richmond added Macay McBride (rehabbing) and free-agent Wayne Franklin.

A day after I sang the praises of Steve Green, he gets placed on the DL. Call it the curse of NMK.

Durham sent DH Ryan Knox to Montgomery, added UTIL Greg Norton from extended spring. Mongomery P Brian Henderson was placed on the DL with a broken toe after "unintentionally" kicking a door frame.

Charlotte DL'd Hideo Nomo, activated Arnie Munoz.

Portland (AAA) activated INF Manny Alexander.

OF Reggie Willits and P Kevin Gregg were recalled by the Angels. P Steven Shell was promoted from Arkansas to Salt Lake, and OF Anderson Rosario was sent to the Bees from extended spring. P Rafael Rodriguez will be promoted from Rancho Cucamonga to the Tavelers.

Carolina placed P Mike McNutt on the DL, added P Kurt Koehler from extended spring.

The Braves sent C Eddie Perez to Mississippi. The MBraves also added OF Barbaro Canizares from extended spring and INF Willie James from Myrtle Beach and DL'd P Dave Coggin. OF Onil Joseph was sent to Myrtle Beach.

Andre Piper-Jordan is now on the Kane County roster - Tim Hummel ended back in the White Sox org with Charlotte.
Canizares was actually promoted from Myrtle Beach (but had only been there for, like, a week or so).

Phil Hughes had his worst outing of the season yesterday:

7 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 6 K.

He still picked up a W, evening his record at 2-2, but his ERA jumped from 0.56 to 1.57. For the season, he has pitched 23 innings, walking 1 and fanning 24.

Sarasota's Drew Anderson had a two-run double and a triple which led to the other run off Hughes. Anderson also singled and scored in the ninth against Gerardo Casadiego, leaving him a HR short of the cycle.
