Neither Indianapolis nor Pawtucket managed a hit until the eighth inning. Neither team even had a base runner until Rajai Davis led off the 7th with a walk for the Indians. Pawtucket won 1-0 in the 10th on Tyler Minges's sac fly.

Chuck Tiffany also pitched 4 hitless innings in his first Biscuits start (and first in the Rays organization). He did allow five baserunners though on 4 walks and 1 hbp. He also got 7 flyball outs to just 3 groundouts - but a good first start nonetheless.
And 2003 2nd-round pick James Houser made his first A+ start and tossed 6 innings of 4 hits ball. He walked zero and got 4 k's, but San Jose got a run in the 4th inning and won 1-0.
Angel Guzman, on the other hand, pitched five scoreless innings, giving up 2 hits, walking 1, and fanning 6. Nic Ungs pitched well in his AAA debut. Felix Pie had three hits including a three-run triple off Randy Messenger, which broke the game open. For the season, Pie is batting .500 (8-16) with a double, two triples, and 6 RBI. He's also stolen three bases, too.

I just spent 10 minutes trying to find out why, four days into the season, Reds' pitching prospect Elizardo Ramirez still hadn't pitched. The answer, of course, appears to be that Louisville has been in Ottawa all season.
Well, that's the risk you run when you schedule anyone north of the Mason-Dixon Line for home games in early April. Granted, Ottawa is further north than anyone else, but the schedule is hard enough to make up as it is.
The Ottawa problem is going to go away when the franchise is moved to Allentown next year or the year after.
He pitched in the second game of the doubleheader yesterday. 5 IP, 3 ER, 4 K, 0 BB. He gave up a solo shot to Andy Tracy, who also drove in another run with a double.

Thanks. Still young and still hanging in there.
I had such high hopes for him when he had a Carlossilvaesque 73:2 K/BB ratio in 73 IP in Rookie ball.
Knuckleballer Charlie Haeger worked seven strong on Saturday, allowing no runs and just one hit, striking out six and walking two (also hitting two batters). All in all, the Knights pitching staff struck out 37 in the 36-inning series.
On the other side, third baseman Josh Fields (Scott Boras client Joe Crede's likely replacement) went 5-for-15 with a double and a walk, and AAAA 1B Casey Rogowski was 4-for-14 with two doubles, two walks, and a homer (also 8 K's). Outfield prospects Ryan Sweeney and Jerry Owens were not so good, combinging for just 5 hits in 33 ABs, with no extra-base hits and just one walk. Owens was successful in two stolen base attempts, however.
Well, the offense is going to get better - the Mud Hens have added Tike Redman to their roster! (Nook Logan went on the DL.)

Olympic Stadium would certainly be a suitable facility.
It's not going to happen, though. Like major league teams, minor league teams want new ballparks.
