Jacksonville (SL South) and Kinston (Car North) won first-half titles and postseason spots over the past few days. In addition, Kane County (MWL West) clinched a postseason spot, although the Cougars are still vying with Peoria for the division title. The Midwest League runs a split-season, but eight teams make the postseason (two teams from each division in each half), and the Cougars are guaranteed to finish in the top two.

Rome (SAL South) leads Augusta by five games, and plays at the Greenjackets in a four-game series, needing two wins to wrap up the first-half title.

The IL, PCL, and EL do not use a split-season schedule; all of the other full-season leagues do.

Toronto sent David Purcey from AAA to AA, promoted Davis Romero from AA to AAA. Ismael Ramirez (AA) went on the DL.

I should add that West Michigan (MWL East) has also clinched a postseason spot. The Whitecaps are guaranteed a top-two division finish, and lead second-place Lansing by half a game. The Lugnuts will clinch a spot with one more victory or a loss by South Bend.

Looks like a fair number of the FSL games are going to be rained out thanks to Tropical Storm Alberto. Dunedin, Daytona, and Clearwater have all been postponed already.
