Line from the Pioneer League's Missoula Osprey last night:

Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Neighborgall 1.0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0.00 </pre>

That's good to see.

The hit was a double, and Neighborgall did throw a wild pitch. It is a start, though.

Thats somewhat stunning in fact. I wish the guy luck.

It does piss me off that Adam Kalkhof, who outpitched Neighborgall in college and HS (they were in the same conf in both) got cut after 4 scoreless low-A innings this year coming off a dominant fall in the NWL last year.

What else would you expect from the Royals?

I wondered why they cut Kalkhof as well (though, of course, I'd rather have Neighborgall).

Saw this in the box score for Johnson City tonight (rookie Appalachian League):

Schoendienst 2b

Jesse Schoendienst is Red's great nephew and a non-prospect.

Random observation: Ryne Malone's first three days as a professional:
Day 1, in the GCL: 2-3, triple, homer, walk, steal, run, rbi.
Day 2, already promoted to Peoria (skipping a level): 2-2 with a pair of doubles, 2 rbi, and a run, making him a cool .800/.833/2.200.
Day 3 (today) ... 0-4, 4 strikeouts.

Baseball is neat.
