According to Brian Cashman, Sheffield will be rehabbing with Trenton tonight with an eye on heading to Boston tomorrow... with Hughes going to the bump for the Thunder, it might be worth the price of admission for Connecticut primates to swing by.

On a night that Scott Lewis starts for Kinston, it should be noted how loaded with LHP prospects the Indians are. Scott Lewis, Tony Sipp, Chuck Lofgren, Jeremy Sowers and another guy named Aaron Laffey who doesn't get many strikeouts but is an extreme groundball pitcher (in the 3s), has good control and doesn't give up the longball much. I can't think of another team with a better collection of LHP in the minors.

Sheffield, batting third for Trenton, got a single swinging on the first pitch.

Lillibridge and Blair may have swapped positions for Hickory tonight - not sure if this is another box score screwup or not.

There's a clip of an interview with Phil Hughes on MiLB.com's Web site.

Marlins LHSP prospect, Adam Bostick, had a nice Albuquerque debut in probably the best hitters environment in professional baseball. I think he probably could've used a few more AA innings because he has less than 100 (44 in 2005 and 43 this season) total...and he only just recently turned 23. He struggled with control in Carolina (30BB+ in 43IP), but walked 3 in his 6 inning debut. Great job kid. Probably only getting a cup of coffee until Renyel is returned to the AAA rotation.

I've seen every home start Bostick has made this year, and he drives me absolutely crazy. He reminds me a lot of Arthur Rhodes. Bostick is slow to the plate, and probably because of that he's also very slow with runners on base. Just a royal pain to watch. You wish Ray Miller would get a hold of him.
