Marlins starting pitcher Scott Olsen will take the mound tonight with the remnants of a shiner under his left eye, courtesy of a punch thrown by teammate Randy Messenger, a source said Monday. Neither player would discuss what happened, but the source said Olsen and Messenger were involved in a fracas late Saturday or early Sunday. -- Palm Beach Post

Good to see that the former Mudcats are getting along nicely up in the big league.

Doesnt Messanger have a rep of being an #######?

As I posted in the discussion thread on the fight, Messenger was suspended in 2003 for some immature behavior, and would have missed the postseason had the Mudcats not come up short-handed in the pitching department.

Mike,
Any word as to the where-abouts of our ultimate utility player Michael Tucker?

Nope. I'll see if Patrick knows anything. My guess is that, like DA, he'll wind up in indy ball.

Baldelli DH'd tonight. He was two for four, but one was a gift (should have been an error on Jon Schuerholz) and the other was a broken-bat flare.

Yeah, I asked Patrick last night, he said he would ask Rex what Tucker was up to.
