There's also a note on Our Sports Central that Dayton's intended roster move to clear space for Elizardo Ramirez has been cancelled, because Guerrero's injury isn't severe enough.

That seems mean.
Jordan was actually called up to Tacoma on Monday to replace Emiliano Fruto (recalled by Seattle). He'd been removed from the 66ers' starting rotation so that Chad Fillinger, sent down from San Antonio, could get some starts. Fillinger was the scheduled starter for IE on Monday when Fruto was recalled; the intent was always for Fillinger to go back to the Missions after his Monday start and for Mark Lowe to go to the Rainiers, with Jordan going back into the rotation at Inland Empire. But to keep the rosters whole, Jordan was promoted temporarily to fill Fruto's roster spot.
It's just the way that the minors work sometimes.

* Brandon Sing has been spectacularly awful this season - however, his struggles may be vision related.
* Why is Jonathan Schuerholz still in (and starting for!) Richmond? (OPS after 215 AB: .429) He's gotta be challenging the Bull d'jour for most heckled guy in the IL at this point.
1. Wes Timmons is on the DL, and isn't expected back until late July/early August.
2. The Braves have decided, for whatever reason, to discontinue the James Jurries at 3B experiment.
3. Cesar Crespo has been playing about as much as Little Jon lately.
4. The Braves don't have much infield depth in the organization. Prado's playing every day at 2B, and TPJr. is doing likewise at SS, so it's not as though Little Jon is blocking a real prospect.

Prados actually hitting a very wee bit better, and is a better hitter period, but the mere fact that TPJr is only a 2-4 day away from having the best OPS among 2b/3b/ss's on that team is scary. Richmond always blows but this year,,maaan. Fire that hitting coach or something. There are few success stories there.
Well one really...Thorman. Timmons has been a sucess story just by staying the same...not improving but not learning suckitis.
Beyond that EVERY hitter is hitting FAR below his track record. Most notably Jurries has dissolved (is there a nagging injury there or did he catch an eye infection from Brandon Sing?) but even solid AAA journeyman types (kelton, strong, crespo, ryam, mccarthy) are OPSing 600 or so. Brayan Penas also gone from being a AAA battingtitle contender to OPSing 640
Look at the stats...Among hitters with more than 39 ABs there is one with a mid 900 OPS,thorman, one with an 889 OPS, Timmons, and one with a 719 OPS, Ryan. EVERY other hitter is at 690 or below. In Richmonds current lineup Mike Ryans 719 is the BEST OPS.
God i hate that team. As i said, sure they always suck but itd be nice to have a decent AAA for times when you have to call half the team up..like this year and last.
There is a lot of turmoil in Richmond right now. The Braves own the franchise, and they have made it very clear that they want a new ballpark to replace The Diamond (which is, not to put too fine of an edge on it, a dump in a horrible part of the city). The city fathers, on the other hand, want to join forces with the Nationals (logically so, under the circumstances), but they can't as long as the Braves own the team - so they have been less-than-willing to negotiate with the Braves, and nothing has happened for several months now. The Richmond power brokers are more than willing to build a ballpark IF they get an affiliation with the Nationals out of it.
My guess is that someone will step up and buy the franchise from the Braves in the offseason. Capitol Broadcasting, which owns the Durham Bulls, and which has had a long-time relationship with the Braves in both Durham and Myrtle Beach (a team that CB recently sold to Chuck Greenberg), could get involved.
