Rehab updates

Dontrelle Willis was recalled from his minor league rehab assignment by the Tigers. He didn’t pitch badly in his AAA outing - 72 pitches, 4 hits, 2 runs in 4 2/3 innings - but he tweaked his hyperextended right knee while fielding a ground ball.

Rich Harden will make a second rehab start in Stockton tomorrow night. Harden’s outing in Sacramento on Thursday lasted 50 pitches, in which he allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 2/3 innings, with 4 Ks and no walks.

John Lackey’s third minor league rehab start yesterday went 4 innings, during which he allowed 4 hits and 2 runs, walking one and fanning 4. Lackey will likely rejoin the Angels when they return home next week. Howie Kendrick also played yesterday, going 2-3 before leaving for a pinch-runner; he’s expected to be reactivated during LA’s current road trip.

What exactly are they going to do with him in Arizona once he's ready? Just spot starts at the infield corners, or a semi-platoon, or what?

2: Depends on whether his knee can handle 3b. If yes, then he'll start occasionally there vs. tough RHP; maybe give Conor a break at 1b other times; and if Spazz's hamstrings finally land him on the DL, I won't be surprised if the Dbacks play Tracy at 3b and Reynolds in LF in emergency. I also expect Tracy/Jackson to split the games at 1b/dh during interleague play.

Elijah Dukes is now on a rehab assignment with Columbus, after playing a few games earlier with Potomac.

Jess Todd has been promoted by the Cardinals from Palm Beach to Springfield. The former Arkansas Razorback will make his AA debut in the new ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Wednesday night.

Josh Vitters has been sent by the Cubs to extended spring training to work out the kinks from a hand injury, suffered on a check swing. Vitters has played in just four games for Peoria this season.

And I guess that I should add that Dukes was ejected from Sunday's Clippers' game after arguing a third strike call. Fortunately, he didn't throw a bat or a punch or anything else. Columbus manager Tim Foli was also tossed.

Mark Mulder threw six innings and 90 pitches in his fifth rehab start, this one for Memphis against Colorado Springs. It wasn't an artistic success, as Mulder was lit up for seven runs and nine hits while walking 2 and fanning 4. He also hit two batters.

Infante is expected to join the Braves next week. Seems Gotay might be DFA-ed again.

Mike, and Der-K if you around, any idea whats happening with Eric Campbell? he was suspended by the Braves out of ST, and haven't about him since.

Campbell - I don't know either. I know last year he was considered kind of a loafer and I'm trying to remember why he was suspended toward the end of the year for the remainder of the season (I remember seeing some blog post about him intentionally knocking over someone who had set up an autograph session, but I didn't see confirmation of that in a more legit setting).
