saw on Baseball America that Cameron Maybin DL'd retroactive due to finger injury. Eligible to return early June.

P Justin Thompson retired after throwing a complete game in a 4-1 loss to Tacoma.
A complete game? No wonder he retired, they probably had to sweep him off the field.

Thompson, from what I can gather, told the team before the game that he was going to retire and they let him go as long as they could (which turned out to be the distance).

bump, updated.

I think there's a chance Carrillo will be in San Diego before the break.

Where has Rich Gale been the last few games for the Mudcats? I think I heard Patrick mention something about having an interim pitching coach with us right now.

Dbacks added Kevin Jarvis to the 40 man roster and called him up to the team. He may end up starting on Monday. Aquino was optioned to AAA; Brian Bruney was DFAed. Bruney hasn't pitched in a really long time, I wonder if he's hurt...

Gale's off attending his daughter's graduation. Wayne Rosenthal (roving minor league pitching coordinator) is filling in.

By the way, just a note:

I post transactions as I become aware of them. Sometimes it takes a day or two for a minor league transaction to hit the wires. I hope to rectify that soon.

This might be of interest to a few folks:

Former Carolina C Dennis Anderson, who was a fan favorite here and who has been sitting in on the home broadcasts with Patrick Kinas, just announced that he's signed a deal to go play for the Sioux Falls Canaries.

Alright Dennis! Glad to hear someone smartened up and picked him up to play.

Bump. I just noted the Mets' callup of Soler, which is in today's game notes on the Binghamton Web site. It's not yet on the Mets' site.

The Yankees signed Erubiel Durazo to a minor league deal.

Clearly they're aiming for a title run in Columbus.

Columbus also has Kris Wilson and T. Long on the roster.
