AL Central race: September 11, 2008

MLB.com: Big inning sinks White Sox

A pitchers’ duel between the White Sox Gavin Floyd and the Blue Jays’ Shawn Marcum fell apart in the eighth, but Toronto’s rally was a little better than the one belonging to Chicago.

The Blue Jays erupted for six runs on seven hits, while the White Sox countered with four runs on four hits, giving Toronto a chance to hold on for a 6-4 victory at U.S. Cellular Field on Thursday night.

MLB.com: Twins tripped up in 10th vs. Royals

An OK homestand turned into a very disappointing one on Thursday afternoon when Minnesota suffered a 10-inning, 3-2 loss to Kansas City in the series finale.

The Twins have now lost 5 of their last 6 extra-inning games.

Despite that, I'm pretty sure Ron Gardenhire still has the best career record in overtime affairs among all managers with at least 5 years on the job.

The way these teams are going, this division will not have a winner; it will have a "winner".

...sigh...

Well, win the wild card. Or put your team in a truly crappy division, like the NL West.
