Anyone measure kevin's head lately?
Well, apparently you do, or you wouldn't be asking me to "fix my attidtude."
I'm just pointing out the fact you never bring anything of substance to the table, this thread being a perfect example.
You need to start hanging out in threads other than those dealing with the BoSox or Barry Bonds. "Substance" in such threads (Bonds threads in particular) is of no consequence to you anyway, as you've already made up your mind on those subjects, with religious certainty.
And you still wonder why he didn't elaborate about the names that were innacurate?
And again, Grimsley has stated unequivocally through his lawyer that he never implicated Clemens in anything having to do with performance enhancing drugs, so Grimsley either (a) lied to the feds then retracted in public, (b) told the feds the truth then told a bald-faced lie in public that contradicts his testimony to the feds, or (c) the report was inaccurate. Either (a) or (b) would mean Grimsley is insane or has the worst lawyer ever, so you figure it out.
While I admit to liking a concotantation of "Whoop. There it is." and "Boom Goes the Dynamite." aren't you guys taking the kevinbashing a little too far.
The Times did not back off their story. The names apparently were in Nowitzki's affidavit. Now, Nowitzki may be lying, and Grimsley may be lying, but its hard to conclusively draw any conclusion from that battle of press releases.
Francesa: This was an utter disgrace yesterday to watch, I'm sorry, OK. I don't understand these Yankee fans - and listen, the young ones, I understand, and the ones who are in it just for the enormous theater, alright, they've gotten spoiled, they like these shows ... but it's ridiculous.
Russo: But it does look bad.
Francesca: First of all, I don't need the theatrics, I thought they were cheap theatrics, number one.
Russo: We all knew he was coming, what's the surprise, my goodness gracious?
Francesa: Listen, we didn't know he was coming yesterday, but we all knew he was coming eventually.
Russo: Come on, the Yankees made it sound like Billy Martin.
Francesa: I don't need to hear from him. And this idea, listen, I understand the guys who he went to yesterday are Yankee announcers, and they're told to beat the drum, which I totally understand, and I understand that's their job. But the idea ... there's so many parts of this that rub you the wrong way, and I think rub a lot of Yankee fans. I don't mind another arm coming to chip in - that's fine. I don't even mind the paying of Roger Clemens. I don't even mind the paying of him. That's extreme, but that doesn't even bother me. It's the other stuff, and the take on it.
First of all, let's go back. We have totally, totally forgot how Roger Clemens came here. He came here after already rejecting the Yankees once, on his way to having those brilliant years in Toronto. He came here, and the Yankees gave him a World Series. He didn't deliver the Yankees to the World Series, the Yankees were coming off the 1998 season when they had been one of the five or six great teams of all time. And in '99 they delivered him a ring, and a postseason gift: they gave him a no-pressurized World Series game.
After that, he had his moments with the Yankees, including Game 7 2001, where he matched Schilling, and I thought pitched a valiant game ...
Russo: And you'll never take that away from him.
Francesa: I always said that if he gave me a good game that night, I'd get off him forever. Cause 'til then, he hadn't been great in the big game, as we all know.
But you know what, the idea that at his age he's going to come here and first of all, just blow everybody away ... he didn't blow everybody away the first time! His American League numbers are nothing like his National League numbers have been the last couple of years. Number one, it' is far easier to pitch in the National League, which we'll get to. That's not to downgrade the National League, that's just the truth of the matter. You've got a weak 8 hitter, and the pitcher, and it makes a big difference. And last year, he didn't even average 6 innings per start anyway, he was 5.96, and that was going down.
The other thing is this Dog, and here's what bothers ya. This really bothers me. A is the whole hypocrisy surrounding this thing, this idea, well, you know, I come here because I want to win a championship, I want to work with the young players, blah blah blah. Well if that's the case, why did you leave 4 years ago? No one told you to leave! You retired, did your victory lap, and left and went to Houston and then cut this sweetheart deal with Houston for three years, and now you're back here, and we gotta hear people great you with "welcome home"?
First of all, how is this Roger Clemens' home? He has pitched for 24 years, he's only pitched 4 years as a Yankee. How is this his home? He just spent the last three years in Houston, he is a Texan through and through from his UT hat to everything else, he is a bona fide Texan and god bless him for it, but let's not make it seem like he's Bernie Williams or Don Mattingly who spent 18 years here. The guy spent 4 years here, and he came here to win a championship! Yes he had good days here. Yes, he sets a good example, I think he makes young pitchers work hard, there's a lot of good things about Clemens.
But this phoniness about this whole approach is ridiculous. If he cared that much about the Yankees winning, he would have been in spring training this year. The idea that he comes in July and now I'm here because the only thing I care about is Yankees winning - well you know what, you care about one other thing, 28 million bucks pro-rated, the highest contract, ironically, in the history of baseball, and that's why they wanted it announced that way, because he isn't making that. So instead of saying that he's going to make a million a week, or 4 millions a month, no, 28 million pro-rated, so that's the highest paid contract of all time, don't think that's lost on anybody, that's number one.
The other thing Dog, that really gets you ... and this I have answer for, it bothers the heck out of me ... the Yankees, especially in their glory days of the late 90s, were a team. No one bigger than anybody else. No one better than anybody else. A team, if he didn't do it, B would do it, C would do it. Real low maintenance stars: Mariano, Bernie, Jeter, O'Neill, etc. Now we got a guy who gets to come and go as he pleases? The Yankees swore, Joe Torre swore they would not do this. This guy gets to come and go as he pleases, he doesn't have to go on a road trip?
Russo: Koby's got a game that night!
Francesca: He goes home when he wants. You're paying him 18 million bucks, or a million bucks a week basically, a million bucks a start basically, and he gets to come and go as he pleases? How do you sell that to Mariano Rivera? Now you're going to say, "oh, pitchers are different than everyday players." You might be able to squeeze through that little loophole for awhile. "And last year, we couldn't have done this because Randy Johnson would have balked." You know what, everyone should have balked! Why should he be paid what he's paid, he isn't the best player on the team, he isn't going to be the best player on the team ... yes, he's one of the great pitchers of all time ...
Bottom line is, for him to get the deal he got, financially and with all the other garbage thrown in, and then be treated like he's MacArthur is the biggest bunch of junk I've ever seen. It was not only over the top, it was embarrassing to watch, and as a long-time Yankee fan, going back to circa 1961 with the Yankees, this was an embarrassing moment, from the way they staged it - why didn't they pull that Steve Nebraska thing out of that rotten "Scout" movie and drop him down in a helicopter down on the mound yesterday in his uniform. I mean, that's all that was left! I mean, this was Barnum & Bailey. These are the New York Yankees! Where's Bill Veeck? Where's Charley Finley? All you needed was a mule and some silver dollars! This was an embarrassment yesterday.
And the way everybody bought in, I was embarrassed. I was embarrassed to watch it. Goose bumps? No, this made you sick to your stomach, goose bumps. This was awful. And Suzyn, "welcome home." Wait a second, I know everyone's been all over Suzyn's call, which was so over the top, it was ridiculous, I even played it on Mike'd Up last night, because Continent alerted me to it, I had some fun with it last night - all in good fun, Suzyn.
But the bottom line is this: what is "welcome home" about? Welcome home to what? He bailed out of here to go to Houston for three years, he fleeced them for every buck they have, and this year they're no good, and they didn't want to pay him, Red Sox didn't want to pay him the same amount of money the Yankees do, Yankees upped the ante, gave him everything he needs, and he came here like he's a conquering here. They made the Yankees look awful! They made them look cheap, they made them look desperate ... ugh, it made me.
Look, I've got nothing against Clemens personally, he's always been good to us, but you know what, he made the Yankees look really cheap yesterday, he really did. And desperate.
Russo: Thank you Mike Great job! There you go!
Francesa: It made me sick.
The Steroids ERA Dot Com
Wow. That's like having HCO and Studs in the Union. Quite a catalog.
Have you read the entire thread? someone is taking something too far, and it isn't the majority.
This is the funniest thing. All the idiot reporters are saying stuff like this.
Apparently they've all missed the report that the team leaders, including Mariano Rivera, gave their okay to this policy before the contract was signed. The only player they've had who would have objected was Randy Johnson, and he's gone.
But that's just the spin coming out of Yankee camp. You have no way of knowing what really happened. And as Francesa pointed out, in a non-idiotic point, what player is going to object when they know that it will be leaked that "Giambi/Damon/Jeter/Mariano vetoed bringing Clemens back"? Because it would indeed have been leaked, particularly with the pitching such a mess right now. So it's go along to get along, which doesn't mean many of those players aren't privately annoyed at the special treatment.
In fact, Clemens' failure to do so is tantamount to a full confession. After all, we've already been reliably assured that Roger has all the money he'll ever need, and that further riches mean nothing to his decision-making process. So his entire Yankee contract should be automatically deposited into a drawn-out libel suit, or else the contract itself should be voided.
This really is McCarthyism in sports. They did find a lot of communists, but they did it recklessly and without any consideration for the people they were accusing.
If someone says you were on steroids, the burden is on you to prove that you're not on steroids.
That's because you're a myopic Yankees fan and steroid junkie supporter.
Yes. Honestly, I'd worry if it didn't.
Nah, that's not it, because I like the Red Sox and am far from a steroid apologist and I don't see it either. Yeah, Clemens fits some of the profiles of a PED user, but Id' give more weight to
a.) the leaked grand jury testimony, and
b.) the positive drug tests
c.) Joyner and the guys who admitted to taking roids
d.) the writings of Jose Canseco
than the guys implicated in the Grimsley raid.
Sadly, I think that it's going to comeout that a significant amount of players were getting chemical assistance. Enough players that it won't make sense to single any particular class of them out. I can't even get outraged at Bonds anymore. Not that I'll be happy with him breaking the record, mind you. I just want to save my energy for other stuff.
What the posts in this thread don't have.
Dude, I said that I don't like steroids. I thought that Trederism was moral relativism. I'm sort of on the side of you Van Buren Boys. But you're way out on a limb. JC and BL are more reasonable.
You like to do this, don't you?
It was five names, not six, and you don't seem to be allowing for the possibility that the story was inaccurate. From the article:
Some of us have tried to stay above the fray. Honestly, there doesn't seem to be much worth contributing to this thread.
Honestly, I'm not bitter, but I am disappointed - not because Clemens didn't choose Boston, but because the Yankees will undoubtedly be a better team with Clemens than they were without him, and I was enjoying the Yankees of April.
To those who think his decision had something to do with anything other than (a) restricting to the three teams his agents had mentioned as being in the running, and (b) money, I'm a bit surprised. Fortunately, most of those people have not shown up in this thread, saving me a lot of trouble.
So... what to contribute?
Last year Clemens took until his 6th start or so to get consistent. Yes, he had a low ERA all year long, but there were some games in which he didn't pitch too deep (low IP/pitch ratio); those happened in his first 5 outings. It also flared up in his last 4 outings, coinciding with the September stretch drive and opponents with OPS+ north of 100. I'd be willing to chalk up the early inconsistency to getting used to MLB hitters again. The tail end, I don't know; he'd missed one start just prior, and was on a pace for under 6 IP/100 pitches in his next two outings. OTOH, he had 8 outings against teams with a 100 or better OPS+ in 2006, and all but one of them were in either of the two periods I cited.
Given all that, I don't know what to think. The Yankees need him not just to pitch Clemensesque quality, but quantity. Let's say he'll have 22 starts if he starts somewhere in the first few games of June; if he can't be counted on for 6 IP in his first, say, 6 starts, the bullpen won't really get much relief (no pun intended) from Clemens until early July. They need that kind of relief... well, now.
Clemens will likely be good, and the Yankee offense will likely be good, but the Yankee bullpen needs either (a) to catch lightning in a bottle and then start throwing bottles, and/or (b) have their IP minimized. I'm a believer that you can't have (a) without (b), and that depends on the starters - worse, it depends on the starters between now and whenever the Roger Clemens we're familiar with shows up.
One other thing I've dredged up is the quality of potential opponents. Let's say Clemens starts 6/1 and pitches every fifth game. This is who he'll face:
4 times: | TBD3 times: BOS |
2 times: TOR | KCR CHW
1 time : NYM CLE DET SFG | MIN BAL LAA OAK ARI
none : SEA | COL PIT
I spread out the above table so the Yankees' opponents are ranked by 2007 OPS. The vertical line is roughly average.
Here's what happens if he starts 6/5 instead:
4 times: |3 times: | TBD BAL KCR
2 times: DET TOR | LAA CHW
1 time : NYM CLE SFG | MIN PIT
none : BOS SEA | COL OAK ARI
Notice how the schedule shifts a little? Five extra games against KC, BAL, LAA, and PIT; three fewer against Tampa, OAK, and ARI; one more against Detroit; and three fewer against Boston. The shift represents roughly 2 points of OPS, in the same number of starts. So, big whoop. But I'm sure if they're expecting him to pitch like an ace, they need to get him on the schedule when it does them the most good... and missing the Red Sox all season long won't really help that much.
FWIW, Clemens' 2006 game log had a similar benefit, with his opponents averaging a 97.9 OPS+. Again, not a big impact to ERA (if my guesses are correct above); regression to his 2006 DiPS ERA is something like three times the impact of that.
"Jason told them [the federal agents] he had no knowledge of Clemens and Pettitte using any illegal drugs and told them that never in a million years would either of them use."
Yeah, that's really vague.
In light of the redacted names from the Jason Grimsley affidavit hitting the papers, Roger Clemens entire career has been called into question. Clemens now find himself in the middle of the controversy alongside Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco.
As to whether or not Clemens is actually in the affidavit.
1. The LA Times reported that an anonymous source with access to the unedited version of the affidavit, let the newspaper view it, but didn't provide a copy. The Times said a second source who had identified the other players provided additional details about the document. The report named Miguel Tejada, Jay Gibbons, and Brian Roberts as users of ‘anabolic steroids’ and Clemens and Andy Pettitte as users of ‘performance-enhancing drugs’ according to Grimsley.
2. The same Times report also said it was Clemens and Pettitte’s former strength and conditioning coach, Brian McNamee, who referred Grimsley to a source that supplied him with steroids, human growth hormone, and amphetamines when all three played in New York in 1999 and 2000. McNamee’s inclusion in the document has not really been disputed.
3. ESPN cited three sources when it reported that in June, the Orioles' front office held separate meetings with Tejada, Gibbons and Roberts to inform the players that their names were rumored to be on the affidavit, and that they should all consult their lawyers. This corroborates at least the other half of the Times report. It stands to reason Clemens and Pettitte would have received the same warning.
4. ESPN’s Dan Patrick said he received a fax of the Grimsley affidavit in June from a previously reliable source. The copy had the redacted names written in. Patrick took the information to the ESPN baseball people, but they couldn’t corroborate the information and therefore didn’t publish a story. Now that multiple reports have confirmed Patrick’s source form June, he revealed on his radio show that Clemens was also on his copy of the affidavit.
5. Clemens seemed to know he was mentioned in the affidavit. As mentioned above he was likely warned by MLB officials when he responded with controlled aggression in answering questions about the report. He attacked Grimsley, even threatening to sue him if Clemens loses endorsements, but never really suggests the Times report implicating him is inaccurate in and of itself.
So, yeah, Clemens could be or could have been a druggie. AM I denying that????? I don't think so. But there is room for uncertainty. We don't use the Napoleonic (Lajoie) Code in the US, man.
For a guy who rails about the current presidential administration, you seem like the type of guy who would send suspected steroid users to Gitmo.
Oh, you read it in the LA Times? But the affidavit was redacted. That means that the only way the LA Times could know is if someone illicitly provided the information to them. By your Sammy Sosa logic ("He broke the rules once, so we can assume he's guilty of breaking them all the time,") if someone is willing to do that, he (or she) can't be relied upon, so there's no way to know whether that person was telling the truth to the LA Times.
There is not a single person who has gone on record as identifying these names. Every person who has been willing to put his name to a statement has denied that these names were named.
2) Assuming for the sake of argument that the names were there, the way they got typed there is that someone -- presumably Novitsky, since he signed it, and I assume a mid-level IRS agent doesn't have a secretary -- pressed the "C" key (with the Shift key), the "l" key, the "e" key, the "m" key, the "e" key, the "n" key, and the "s" key, in that order.
In short, the most you can truthfully (I know this isn't a concern of yours) say is that Novitsky claims that Grimsley named these people. The most accurate statement would be "The LA Times reports that an anonymous person claims that Novitsky claims that Grimsley named these people. The government said that the report was significantly inaccurate, and Grimsley denies that he did so."
Are you not intelligent enough to see the difference between this statement and "Jason Grimsley said that Clemens used steroids"?
But wait. Even if your statement were accurate, do you not understand the difference between "Jason Grimsley said that Clemens used steroids" and "Clemens used steroids"? Do you not understand that Grimsley could be lying or mistaken?
But wait some more. Even if Grimsley did say what the LA Times article says, and even if Grimsley is telling the truth and is accurate, the article doesn't say what you claim it says. What it says is that the affidavit claims that Grimsley said that Clemens "used performance enhancing drugs." But if you read the actual affidavit, it mixes and matches steroid use, HGH, and amphetamines use. The paragraph that uses the quoted words DOES NOT DIFFERENTIATE. In other words, even if everyone is telling the truth, you have no basis for a claim that Clemens used steroids rather than amphetamines.
Oh, come on! You know it's true!
Also, as a Red Sox fan, I agree that Kevin is nuts. We all have our favorite quotes from this thread but I think mine is "What has Hughes done? I mean, besides pull a hammy, that is."
(*) Whether Bonds used is not what I am disputing in that sentence; what I am attacking is the unequivocally false statement that Bonds admitted using steroids.
Damning with faint praise, ggc?
But I snagged Clemens in my AL fantasy league for a mere fifty cent salary bid a few weeks ago.
So, where can I start shopping for Roger paraphernalia?
"I would too. It would mean you had half a brain. And that would be a very dangerous thing."
Wait, you're saying that it would be dangerous if he weren't laughing at you?
And why would his recognition of the joke allow me to have half a brain?
Novak told the newspaper that the agents, not Grimsley, brought up Clemens and Pettitte, and that recent published reports claiming Grimsley also identified Roberts and Gibbon as players who took steroids were also incorrect.
Kevin, I'm sorry, but this is straightforward as can be. Grimsley has, through his attorney, said that he didn't sign any affidavit that would have said Clemens and Pettitte used "any illegal drugs".
Is Grimsley lying? Maybe. Is it possible Clemens used drugs without Grimsley's knowledge? Of course it is.
(Incidentally, does anyone know if Grimley ever said that he didn't name/confirm Tejada?)
I think you might be mistaken. My name isn't "Hank Kimball", it's "Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Griffin (Vlad)".
It would be a lot easier to follow your posts if not for these sorts of careless errors.
Well, you have half a brain. What do you expect?
(and i say that as a sox fan who really dislikes clemens, and who kinda thinks that he is a juicer)
I expect Jermaine Dye to go on a tear starting tomorrow, because I traded him from my fantasy team.
This is a Loungie type thread now, by decree of me.
Only significantly less interesting. And yet, I can't look away...
Says you.
This is lawyerese perfectly consistent with:
Agent: We've got 10 witnesses saying Clemens and Pettitte use. Did they?
Grimsley; "Yeah, I've heard 150 players tell me they've juiced for years, too. Everybody thinks they do. Do I know it? No. I never saw it. They're both great guys. To me, they're not the kind of guys that would use, not in a million years."
This is lawyerese perfectly consistent with the above re Clemens and Pettitte. Exactly who "brought them up" is of precisely zero moment and is the kind of thing a lawyer would throw out there to muddy the waters.
It is in Canada when nutjob Bloc Quebecois MP's like Doucheceppe are looking for racists that don't exist.
I can't imagine that you honestly don't understand this. You're being intentionally obtuse. This doesn't really surprise me, given your past history, but I still must admit that I can't fathom why you would want to be so obviously intentionally obtuse.
Quit stealing my lines Larry.
Me too. I might have gone my entire life without knowing...
Really, to me, this is the best part. kevin wouldn't have a care in the world with regards to Clemens' purported steroid use had he decided to sign up with the BoSox. In fact, he'd be happily dancing on the grave of the 2007 Yankees
Oh, come on! You know it's true!
Really, to me, this is the best part. kevin wouldn't have a care in the world with regards to Clemens' purported steroid use had he decided to sign up with the BoSox. In fact, he'd be happily dancing on the grave of the 2007 Yankees
You people need to decide whether you're going to bash kevin or praise him.
Me too. I might have gone my entire life without knowing...
It would have taken you two lifetimes to figure it out, unless it's 1/2 * 1/2, in which case it would have taken you 4 lifetimes. So you owe me a bobblehead or soome such thing. Do they make a bobbleheads powered by the sun by any chance? I'll take one of those--the player doesn't matter. They're all pretty much the same, really.
The Rocket Returns! COMMEMORATE him with a brand new Yankees jersey.
Don't we commemorate DEAD people?
It's about 350 posts too long.
I'll be having more fun with Chad Gaudin tomorrow night.
But okay.
In other words, Grimsley never connected Clemens or Pettitte to steroids. Gotcha.
Don't we commemorate DEAD people?
Friends, Union Members, Primates, lend me your eyes;
I come to bash Kevin, not to praise him;
The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft commerated with jerseys
So let it be with Kevin…. The noble Nieporent
Hath told you Kevin was reckless:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath kevin answered it….
Here, under leave of the Jim and the rest,
(For Szymborski is an honourable man;
So most of them all; all honourable men)
Come I to speak in Kevin's bashing….
He was my friend, faithful and just to me:
But Nieporent says he was reckless;
And Nieporent is an honourable man….
Kevin hath cast many sophists off the Primer,
Whose nonsense did the general site threads fill:
Did this in Kevin seem reckless?
When that the cheaters have juiced, Kevin hath wept:
Recklessness should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Nieporent says he was reckless;
And Nieporent is an honourable man.
You all did see that on the Bonds thread
I thrice praised him with compliments,
Which he did thrice refuse: was this recklessness?
Yet Nieporent says he was reckless;
And, sure, he is an honourable man.
I speak not to disprove what Nieporent spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then to support him now?
O judgement! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And Primates have lost their reason…. Bear with me;
My heart is in the thread there with Kevin,
And I must pause till it come back to me.
I hear you can get a real deal on the A's Ryan Langerhans bobble-hands doll. They are on closeout. Wait a few weeks and you can pick up the matching Jack Crust and Chris Smelling bobble-hands dolls.
Awesome! Jack Crust! Chris Smelling! The Garbage Pail A's!
Awesome! Jack Crust! Chris Smelling! The Garbage Pail A's
Everyone comes with an authenic game used piece of upperdeck tarp. THe Nick Swiffer doll includes the "Baserunning with Jeremi Giambi Video"
No no no. You're getting it all wrong. Nick Swisher would be Nick Squisher and a mucus-like substance would come out his head when you squeeze it. Also, you could have Mark Snot-say, Shannon Goo-art, Adam Mel-puke, Mark Ill-is, Eric Scab-ez, and Barry Zit-face for the nostalgia inclined. Liberal amounts pus, vomit and especially snot should be featured. Seriously, when you think you've reached the limit for representative snot, add 25% more. The kids will love it. I know I do.
I do, but Utah has the size to take advantage of the W's on the post. I hope it's a running game, but Sloan is awfully smart. I don't think he'll blink like Avery Johnson did. Still should be a good series. The W's are fun if nothing else.
Angel: You murdered Martin Blower because he was a bad actor?
NWA: Well, he murdered Bill shakespeare!
Very true. I don't think Steven Jackson is going to bully Boozer like he did Nowitzki.
What would be cool, is if they get Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler to do the game, then in the start of the third period, the loudspeaker plays "Mexican Girls" by Smokie, and:
Jim: Oh my gawd, that can't be...
King: It is, JR, it is. The warriors said they had a big announcement and here it is.
Jim: That's Karl Malone's music, and ... he's coming out to the court wearing a Golden State Uniform. And that's John Stockton beside him.
King: Yep. The pick and roll express are coming to the Warriors, I'm lovin it JR.
Jim: Oh he11, Stockton just spit on Jerry Sloan, somebody stop this...somebody stop this.
After 7 innings, I'm sure he's having more a lot fun than the Mariners. 3 hits and 1 run, with a pretty low pitch count to boot, plus good movement on his pitches. Not bade for a debut.
And that's three pretty damn good starts by three different well under-30 pinstripers in the past two weeks. You never know. Maybe Cashman's not so dumb after all.
I thought he got picked up because of his Oscar-worthy performance in "The Longest Yard".
Cashman not dumb? That's unpossible!
I wonder what the morale situation must be like for DeSalvo and Rasner, with the pressure of having to "save" the Yankee rotation now gone from their shoulders. If they can hold the fort for Rocket and Hughes, and the Yankees end up in the playoffs, the team's going to bronze those two.
Thanks mate, appreciate it.
I'll see you in chatter tomorrow
