AP: Derek Jeter leaves New York Yankees game with strained left quadriceps

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter left Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays with a strained left quadriceps.

ESPN is now reporting it’s a groin injury, FWIW.

Elsewhere: AP: Bartolo Colon placed on disabled list with side strain

Bartolo Colon had a setback in his attempt to return to the big leagues with the Boston Red Sox. The 2005 Cy Young Award winner, who is pitching for Triple-A Pawtucket, strained his right side.

Colon will be re-examined Tuesday in Boston before the home opener against Detroit, manager Terry Francona said. “I don’t think there’s anybody (who) thinks this is anything” major, Francona said

This is quite shocking. Bartolo Colon actually has a side now?

It doesn't say whether Colon strained his fore rib, or his chuck.

I wonder if New York is considering Rodriguez as a temporary shortstop if Jeter stays unhealthy. It looks like 2005 was the last time he was there for a regular season game.

thats right, I remember a game he played in 2005, in a game against the Twins I think, in the metrodome.
