Baltimore Sun: O’s saying little on situation with Gibbons

Shortstop Miguel Tejada said he didn’t want to comment, but added, “It’s not really good to see a teammate go through that.”
...
“We don’t know what happened,” Aubrey Huff said. “It seems like every morning you wake up, you see somebody’s name in the paper, whether it be him or anybody else. Who knows if they’re doing anything. You don’t know what it’s about.”
...
The Orioles are hopeful that Jeremy Guthrie will pitch again before the season ends. Guthrie will be skipped in the rotation after leaving Sunday’s game with a strained oblique, but Trembley said today that the rookie’s condition has improved.
...
Victor Zambrano, whose contract was purchased from the Pittsburgh Pirates over the weekend, will start Saturday’s game in Toronto. Zambrano threw a side session the past two days to prepare for his assignment. He hasn’t pitched since Aug. 30.

I didn’t even know Zambrano had found his way to the Pirates, and now he’s starting for Baltimore.  I didn’t realize everyone was clamoring for a piece of the guy.

Why are all of the Orioles who are accused of using steroids and HGH such crummy players? We have had Palmiero (the older version), Grimsley, Segui, Hairston and now Gibbons. Couldn't it have helped one of them be a great ballplayer? I think the drugs helped that guy in San Francisco.
