This must have the highest ad to scoreboard ratio I've ever seen.

You never saw Silver Stadium, huh? Looked like downtown Tokyo.

The great thing is that they really made use of the guitar shape, putting the linescore there on the neck.

Greer Stadium's scoreboard is about all it has going for it. I mean, it is a minor league park and all, and the only one I've ever been too, but it feels so run down.

It also hosts the annual Jeff Fisher Celebrity Softball game.

Also, the Sounds' mascot looks like this.

You mean that scoreboard isn't a tribute to Johnny Guitar Watson for scoring a million run of hits?

An appropriate photo for the 75th birthday of the King.

I normally hate billboards, but this is pretty cool. I love those Budweiser tuning keys.

The ad/scoreboard ratio truly has plummeted since the 90's stadium boom (which Greer was not a part of- it's one of the oldest stadiums in AAA ball). Witness how
New Orleans, Charlotte and Scranton/Wilkes-Berre all have smaller scoreboards but lots of ads (possibly because the scoreboards aren't large enough or have large video boards that could be used for video ads between innings). Silver Stadium had a similar look, only more rickety and quirky looking (the good old days!), since it had opened in the 20s.

Great picture. At least there's some charm to this scoreboard. Yankee Stadium has the huge obnoxious ads in your face..........just one of many reasons it is one of the most over-rated venues in baseball. (Actually, that's my perspective from the seating area; the councourses and exteior are incredible.)

I like the

public service ad. Words to live by.

#4 - I agree, Greer Stadium is run down and needs some major improvements....They need to keep the scoreboard and replace everything else.

#6 - Elvis lived in Memphis, about 200 miles to the west.

I miss minor league parks that feel like minor league parks. Most of the newer "nicer" minor league venues feel like they're trying to be major league but just aren't. To me, that's sad. Much better to just be who you are. So, DAP > DBAP.

I should add, that I've been fortunate in Winston-Salem to still have an old, beat up, crappy stadium in which to watch A ball. Not so next year (or so they tell me).

9-Video boards haven't prevented a proliferation of billboards in major league parks. Citi Field is ridiculously packed with ads for construction equipment rental, debt relief, bail bondsmen, etc. :)
