Baseball Picture of the Day: Take me out to the Dark Side

87 approx. days until pitchers and catchers!

It was a peaceful day on Lowell-MA, a Class-A (short) world in the Red-Sox system. Then, he came. Steinbrenner’s dark apprentice, Darth Moneybags. He is seen here observing some of his prisoners, who no doubt will be shipped to the great Bronx free agent mines.

Or maybe it was just Star Wars Night. One or the other.

Tomorrow: Tim Lincecum dogging it

BTW, while there is no "photos" tag, hitting the "Special Topics" tag will give you most of the previous pictures of the day with only minimal other postings

The more free agents you sign, the more World Series ringz will slip through...your...uh...ah, to hell with it.

I just realized that the game is going on during this picture, meaning those kids waiting for Vader's autograph are asking to get brained if they don't watch their back for foul balls.

Then that is their DESTINY...

But you have to admit that the idea of Vader speaking Rodian is pretty funny.

Are they still called days over on the Dark Side?

"Uhm, hello? Lord of the Sith over here.....Butcher of Alderaan?...Terror of Tatooine?. Will no one ask Vader for *his* autograph? Damn you Dick Drago."

A interesting question.

Beat me to Chewie, but here he is looking a bit more vicious.

I've got #16's on my rotating desktop background. That is an awesome picture, especially because you can see the identifying characteristics of the ballpark.

More images from that game. The first one's my favorite.

And of course, there's always this classic.

I think that's the first picture of Bill Lee I've seen where he wasn't wearing a uniform.

...after seeing this in Hot Topics, I thought this picture would have to do with Pink Floyd. And I was ready to post something about "When the Tigers Broke Free."

Or cousin. Who can keep up with the Vaders?
   26. villageidiom  Posted: November 24, 2009 at 05:58 PM (#3396103)
We used to rely on their stepbrother Owen to tell us what the Vaders were up to. We haven't heard from him in a while. Maybe I'll call him after the harvest.

Keeping up with the Vaders would be a awesome bandname.

Greedo

I never realized until now what a stupid name that is. Lucas might have well just called him "Dickheadus."
