Best: Joe Buck explores ‘Sports and Celebrity’ Monday

As my son once said when he was passing a Joe Buck filled TV screen..."Dude’s got a thin head.”

On taking advantage of HBO allowing naughty words:

“I think that would be a big mistake because of what you said before: I’ve built up a 15 or 16 year reputation at Fox Sports of doing things clean and doing things the right way. I can’t always control what a guest is going to say. They can say whatever they want, but it’s not going to come flying out of my mouth because that’s not who I am.

“I was there for [last year’s Buzz Bissinger/Will Leitch confrontation on Costas’ show] and that obviously was not what Bob’s about. But having a colorful guest and someone who might get upset, that’s good, compelling TV and something you don’t see on network television. You set up the opportunity and if they walk through it, they walk through it.”

On his limited schedule of doing Fox’s weekly baseball game:

“I think I’m doing 12. That’s typical for the last couple of years. This is my third year of that schedule. When I first started at Fox baseball our game of the week picked up at the end of May. Now it picks up with Week 1.

“Fox and I go over the schedule and see where I’m best used. Once you get into early August you’re into preseason NFL and those are nationally televised games, so then my focus shifts to football. My schedule on Fox is not affected by this [HBO show] at all. They know that’s my main job.”

During football season last year I made a joke that Joe Buck should die of ass cancer in front of my 88-year old grandfather who is dying of colon cancer. Luckily he's 88 and didn't notice. Damn you Joe Buck! Seriously though I don't know one person who enjoys Joe Buck.

I think it was on this site that I saw a clip of his HBO show. It couldn't have been real, it was so bad. Was it real?

Does this thread mean the shelf life of the Joe Buck ad has now been extended?

Oh skanky fantasy baseball girl with the haunting eyes, I'm so sorry I didn't appreciate you when you were here.

Every time I read about Buck, I realize the Mute button on the remote control is the greatest invention since the wheel.

Once you get into early August you’re into preseason NFL and those are nationally televised games, so then my focus shifts to football.

That explains a lot about the way he calls MLB playoffs.

Wait. You have kids? I don't know why this is surprising to me, it just clashes with my perfectly 100% formed mental image of you as Jane Goodall but for midtown rummies.

Instead of his HBO show, I would like to see Joe Buck make the move into porn. Imagine the bored, disdainful sounds he must make at the moment of orgasm.

Imagine the bored, disdainful sounds he must make at the moment of orgasm.

What? No, and you can't make me. I can't think of a thing I'd rather do less, other than have to film the sounds and later edit footage of the event for release, thereby ensuring at least three exposures to this nightmare.
