Brewers lose; Fielder attacks teammate Parra

Their patience is running out, too.

After Manny Parra (9-5) left for a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning, first baseman Prince Fielder went up to him in the dugout and exchanged words. Fielder then shoved Parra twice before teammates pulled him away.

It was reminiscent of Aug. 2 last season, when manager Ned Yost got into a heated dispute with catcher Johnny Estrada in the dugout tunnel during a loss to the Mets and players intervened. That came during a run of 10 losses in 14 games, a fade that dropped them out of first place.

They’re at it again.

“If you want to know what happened or what transpired—blow-by-blow or what words were said—I’m sorry, you’re not going to know,” Yost said, his voice rising. “It’s private. It’s between us, and it’s not a big deal. And it’s not the first time it ever happened, and it won’t be the last.”

Prince nah seems like nothing…

Harvey, I have been puzzled by the lack of Ray as well. I think Branyan's not in there because of his poor D. That little shot in the arm he gave them was more than anyone could have expected, but come one; he was barely adequate at third when he was 27. I think the dumbest thing Ned has done (lately) was to start Sheets on the Saturday after he threw 42 fairly high-stress pitches in the A-SG when he had Parra with more than a week off.

Re: 97

I can't even process the thought of that. Not in a good way. Not in a bad way. I'm just confused.

HSF:

Branyan's defense has not been an issue to this point. He doesn't handle bunts well and he has been out of position every so often but he's been adequate. And clearly a threat against a right-hander when at the plate.

Ned was trying to set up his 1-2 rotation for the second half. Who knows if that matters with Ben. He typically takes a swan dive in the second half......................

There is a place I used to visit in Mexico that served prawns stuffed with cheese, wrapped in bacon and deep fried. They were great with hot sauce.

A good handle should be poetry.

Still a bit long... (and it took an eternity to figure this out.)

I DO root for them. I want desperately to be wrong. About EVERYTHING.

Ah, that's how life rubs. Wrong about what you want to be right about, and right about what you want to be wrong about.

You ever had a deep-fried Twinkie? It's not quite as bad as it sounds.

I've got a buddy who decided it would be a good idea to try one. Unfortunately he tried to do it himself. He failed to heat the oil well and proceeded to dunk the twinkie in the luke-warm oil. Pretty much acted as a sponge. I think I could actually hear his heart screaming as it struggled to keep up while he consumed the oil-saturated death stick. I can't imagine how that felt coming out the next morning.

I prefer magic markers.

They're more effective as inhalants?
