Courier Press: Don Mattingly’s wife arrested

The Yankees had to know of this problem.

Kim Mattingly, the wife of Los Angeles Dodgers’s assistant coach Don Mattingly, was arrested over the weekend and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct after she allegedly refused to leave her husband’s property.

According to a Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department probable cause affidavit, Kim Mattingly’s arrest came after Vanderburgh County sheriff’s deputies were called to the Mattingly home on Darmstadt Road on Saturday for a report of a family dispute “involving a person who refused to leave.” When deputies arrived, Kim Mattingly, 45, allegedly said her husband had taken her phone and she wanted it back. Don Mattingly told deputies he did not have the phone, so deputies informed her that he did not have the phone and that she needed to go through her lawyer for future dealings with him. She also was told to stay away from the property.

...She allegedly was unsteady on her feet, smelled of alcohol and “had an abusive attitude,” according to Howard.

Deputies arrested Kim Mattingly for public intoxication. As they tried to handcuff her, she reportedly tried to pull away and began screaming, even after officers told her to stop resisting.

Precisely the text of my last personal ad.

Wow, so I guess circumstances related to this explains Donny leaving the Dodgers before he started. Poor guy.

She should have her children taken away.

"She should have her children taken away."

The Dodgers actually took Preston away in 05.
It was the moral thing for them to do, the alternative was that he would have attended that "school" in Knoxville, TN

One would have to kick up quite a fuss in Darmstadt, IN to get the cops out there.

There but for the grace of God go I. I drank very heavily, but socially, throughout my 20s and into my 30s. But I never needed a drink, once or twice I deliberately went a couple weeks without a drink to test how I was doing. There were others who started out like me but eventually couldn't go without a few drinks every day. One guy I knew ALWAYS had a spare case of beer in his car by the time he hit his mid-30s. The last time I saw him was about 12 years ago and at 45, he looked like the old drunks I remembered seeing in the local tappies when I first started drinking.
We all have free will but some of us have tougher hurdles. I wish Mrs. Mattingly gets well for her own sake first and for her loved ones's sakes too.

If she's his current wife (not ex) and they made her leave her private property and then arrested her for PI, that's a little douchey. Still and of course, don't get so drunk the cops get called.

I blame Mattingly's sideburns for establishing a hedonistic, "anything goes" atmosphere.

Kinda looks like if Scott Brosius, Bob Horner, and Barney Rubble had a child.

Jesus. I only checked out the article to see the pic... and now I'm regretting it. The mind can't handle such horrors just after waking up.

According to Wiki Don and Kim have been married since 1979, when Don was 18.

Looking at that picture, I'm pretty sure alcohol had a lot to do with this breakup. I feel really bad for Donny. It's always easier to like guys who stick with their wives after making it big.

Iamgine if he had gotten the Yankee job, what a utter circus this would be. Yikes!
