For the world record, Henderson notched stolen base No. 1,066 in 1993 to surpass Yutaka Fukumoto, who played for the Hankyu Braves in Japan and surpassed Brock’s mark in 1983.

Well, Rickey being Rickey decided to mark the occasion in breaking Fukumoto’s record as well.

I visited the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum at the Tokyo Dome in November, and my traveling buddy was able to get a picture of the commemorative item that caught our eye and gave us a chuckle. The writing from Rickey on the base reads:
