DUI from ’99 snags Alex Cora

And a sweet picture of Cora treading lager at a Celtic game…

Red Sox infielder Alex Cora turned himself into the Martin County (Florida) jail on Wednesday on a probation violation charge related to a 1999 DUI case.

According to a source close to Cora, the 32-year-old believed that the matter, which occurred when he was with the Dodgers, had been fully resolved no later than 2000. In the process of completing a legal transaction in Florida earlier this week, Cora’s name popped up on a computer, and he discovered that it was not settled.

Cora reported to the jail, posted a $20,000 bond and was immediately released. The source said the infielder expects the issue to be cleared up by next week.

I don't think he uses them anyway.

For the lawyers out there- is it still possible to avoid legal entanglements by not travelling to the state where you were bad, like Lajoie (I think) not making trips to Pennsylvania back in the day?

Think Cobb had to take some odd routes to avoid Ohio for numerous repugnant offenses.
