I’ve been trying to follow the saga of the Hyundai Unicorns, four-time Korean champions who were in danger of vanishing after KT Telecom decided at the eleventh hour not to take over sponsorship from Hyundai. When it seemed like the team would have no backers, first the other players and teams in the league pledged to provide operating capital. Now a seemingly nonexistent company has pledged the $12.7 million to buy the team.
Unfortunately the team will not carry the Centennial name, which as far as corporate team names go, sounds kind of cool. Instead the naming rights will be sold to a Centennial client. In order to raise more funds Centennial will also sell ad space on the player uniforms, caps and equipment to other clients (see photo above). Fun. A team running around looking like nine race car drivers. Maybe they’ll change hats every inning. Up until now KBO teams have only worn the logo of their sponsor.
If this team starts out hot I say its owned by the Yakuza and the fix is in.
This provides BTF with an opportunity to buy a space on the uniforms of a major-league baseball team.

Seriously, it seems like this was huge news, the risk that there would be only 7 teams in the league and the Unicorns' players and coaches would be scattered around the league. Now they're back in business, but nobody knows who the owners are.
Owns. Owns.
Humpty backed camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants but sure as your born
You're never going to see no unicorn.
(That's from memory)
Actually sounds like the Charlestown Chiefs.
