Now, imagine if the Cubs get Brian Roberts, too. A trade for Roberts would transform an underachieving offense into one of the most potent in the National League. The addition of a secondary target, Chone Figgins, could do the same.

But if Fukudome becomes, as scouts expect, another Raul Ibanez, the Cubs’ lineup would feature four impact hitters: Fukudome, Soriano Lee and Ramirez, whose contracts will average — ahem — nearly $60 million per season.

That's more expensive than A-Rod! He's saying the Cubs are paying $240M each year for just four players? Poor Bud Selig would explode if this were correct.
