He was one hell of a hitter in his hey day. Pujols is trying his best to be the next Thomas. (As far as hitting goes)
That's basically how it went with Rickey Henderson, right? I don't think he has ever 'officially' retired.
Actually, bringing Henderson back now that he's in the Hall of Fame would be a pretty fun PR stunt for a bad team in September, let him pinch run and start a few games here and there, and he'd probably go for it.
barry bonds says hi!

There is absolutely no need to have "probably" in that sentence.
He did. It was at a Hard Rock Cafe or something like that. I found it appropriate, somehow.
From the other side.
But at least Henderson was playing, in the Independent League. Thomas is just taking batting practice and lifting weights apparently. If he were serious about still playing, he needs to be actually PLAYING somewhere for some Independent League team.
Disagree. He may not be so fanatic about playing baseball that he wants to go back to cramped locker rooms and bus rides. He wants to play major league baseball. I doubt there's anything he could reasonably do in the Atlantic League that would convince someone who currently has no interest to sign him.
The best part of this is that no one would be shocked if Rickey showed up at Fenway for a Nats home game against the Red Sox.
