One of the worst games of the year turned into one of the best of the year. The Tigers won Wednesday night after trailing Cleveland by six runs in the sixth inning.
Rookie Matt Joyce tied the game with a two-run homer on a 0-2 pitch in the seventh.
In the ninth, third baseman Carlos Guillen won the game with his glove, and then Miguel Cabrera won it with his latest homer. Cabrera drilled a two-run shot with one out in the ninth for an 8-6 win.
“Carlos made those plays, so I wanted to win the game for him,” Cabrera said.
