GBL Suspends Nigel Thatch

If I didn’t know this was a real person, I’d suspect another Sidd Finch story in the making:

The Golden Baseball League announced today that RHP Nigel Thatch of the Fullerton Flyers has been placed on the Suspended List for failure to report to Spring Training. Thatch, better known as the actor who played “Leon” in Budweiser commercials, was traded to Fullerton from the Schaumburg Flyers of the Northern League last month for a pallet, or 60 cases, of Budweiser beer.

It doesn't top Dan Quayle debating Murphy Brown, but it is from that whole school of ... what is that mixing of reality and unreality called?

Leon doesn't need Spring Training, baby.

CBW must have 'disposed' of Leon

CBW should definitely send his tape to the Fullerton Flyers. And maybe a cover letter promising that he'd bring international coverage with him.

That's not a bad idea, actually. If they're looking for publicity, maybe CBW could get Jim to give him a blog here, and he could blog all season long.

That's just Leon being Leon.
