Ballsy. Stupid, but ballsy.
RA: "Hey Lonnie, i'm trying to find my flat-screen TV and PS3. Do you know anything abo--Hey, what's that stuff behind you? a new TV and PS3?"
Lonnie: "Yeah, I got it for a good price. It was a steal"
RA: "Wait, your TV has my stickers on it"
Lonnie: "Oh ####!"
Yeah, he just accidentally stole that Playstation 3 and flat-screen TV. In fact, he didn't even steal it - it just fell into his pocket, and he didn't notice when he left the room. Really, the quote should read "... at the wrong place at the wrong time, doing the wrong thing..."
While he may never do something like this again, to pretend that it's just a trivial matter is insulting.\
As a side note, do any of the lawyers here have a guess as to how this would impact his ability to play in Canada - either in the minors or majors? I mean, I know that various athletes have been convicted and still been allowed across the border, but that's largely been for DUI/DWI, drugs, or assorted traffic violations - grand larceny and burglary are viewed with a slightly different level of seriousness.
I also remember in the late 1970s that announcer would make a big deal about Jim Norris having been signed out of prison. I don't know what he was there for, and in any case there is not much to discuss about Jim Norris, a generic non-descript outfielder.
I hear he refuse to sign any of the laptops at card shows, though.
I see. I don't remember hearing about that one.
It just stuns me that people could be so stupid to think that no one would notice that:
a) They seem to have acquired a Playstation 3 and flat-screen TV at the same time that one of each just vanished from down the hall, or
b) They suddenly have exactly the same number of laptops that vanished from the school just down the street.
I suppose I should be happy that so many criminals are that stupid....
