Jack Wilson to Tigers: It’s on. No it’s off. No, it’s on again.

Jack Wilson to the Tigers?

After missing out on the J-man (Jair Jurrjens) last year, it looks like the Pirates might finally be ready to deal for some young Tiger booty.

Argh!

Why do the mods here keep giving this guy press? Seriously, he has shown over and over again that he has no "sources" and just makes stuff up as he goes. Please.....no more.

Stratman, I'm sure you know the site better than I do, but his content has been reliable to me. He's broken news before the press numerous times on Pittsburgh rumors.

If Jake said that the sun will come up tomorrow, I'd make a point of looking out the window, just to be sure.

No offense meant 4seamer. It just irritates me that this garbage is what has come to pass for Pirates news. Sad really.

4seamer is the drama queen himself. If you don't believe me you might believe s.zielinksi (#7, #37)

Jack Wilson would fit Detroit's need for a SS, but I have just as hard a time seeing them add $7.25M to their payroll as I do seeing the Pirates pick up that salary. And what are the chances that the Pirates pick up Robertson or DTrain?
   8. Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Griffin (Vlad)  Posted: November 22, 2008 at 09:26 AM (#3014219)
No chance of either. They want actual talent back.

Sorry about the DP, guys. No idea how it happened - I was still asleep in my bed at seven this morning.

well, looks like little Bucco Blog has become a player today as Rosenthal mentioned this deal in his column and named Bucco Blog as the original source.
   10. Frank Rook  Posted: November 22, 2008 at 01:38 PM (#3014297)
Rosenthal writes:

"But that possibility, first reported by Bucco Blog, was dismissed by another source as "inaccurate" and having "no foundation.""
   11. SoSHially Unacceptable  Posted: November 22, 2008 at 01:43 PM (#3014302)
Wow, Bucco Blog is now being called worthless by guys like Rosenthal, rather than just Pirate fans at BTF. It's really made the big time.
   12. PH  Posted: November 22, 2008 at 01:59 PM (#3014310)
Of all the BTF subplots, this one might confuse me the most.

The gist is that the guy who writes this blog is already infamous among Pirates fans and has been trying for many years to get other people to take him seriously. He has a history of making up random rumors from unnamed sources, and his "analysis" is a nonsensical mishmash of random statistics. He somehow wangled a blog hosted by mlb.com, and for whatever reason he has been anonymously linking his stuff here to be mocked mercilessly. He's a garden variety attention whore, really, but he's far more persistent than most. (And yes, though he won't admit it, he is 4seamer in this thread -- the blog was hosted on 4seamer.com for a while.)

#12 indeed. It seems that blog draws the ire of some Pirates' fans. Duck, there's another flying pig (shayborg will see it as a cow). Jake only wishes he was so important Rosenthal had to write a piece shooting his rumor down. Since KR mentioned a major league source told him the same rumor, and I'll go on record as guessing Rosenthal and Jake aren't talking to the same sources, the "inaccurate" statement from the second source is to be expected.

Hilarious. Talking about yourself in the third person is always funny. This is funnier than most.

He also made a dramatic, emotional announcement that he was quitting blogging. That's a little sad, but far from unusual... what was really weird was the stated reason, which was, if I'm not mistaken, that his blog was too powerful and its existence was warping the sport of baseball. Now, naturally, he's back (and I didn't notice baseball changing much due to his absence.)

In any event, you're not supposed to link your own blog posts no matter how crazy you are, right?

I'll go on record as guessing that Rosenthal talked to a source.

Classic.

[Edit] I just noticed that he's also the guy that submitted this thread. Talk about your self-inflicted wound.

Can anyone find a link to buccoblog that wasn't submitted by 4seamer? I've tried and cannot. See e.g. here or here or here or here.
   22. Dan The Mediocre  Posted: November 22, 2008 at 11:53 PM (#3014453)
Based on the depth of the desperate plea for attention, I'll guess that Bucco Blog is run by..........Hank Steinbrenner.

There. Aaronson and Zielinksi are the two biggest gossips in town. In an hour, everyone will know.

I guess making a new account was the least you could do. Still, none of this is going to help the "drama queen" tag.

You're five minutes late!!!

Repoz did once, Kyle S.

I must say this is fantastic stuff, though.
