If he misses extended time in consecutive seasons, it can't exactly be helping.
Skinny pitchers do this all the time. Is he missing time do to fatness related injuries?
I think someone on THT had a study that fat pitchers actually are slightly more durable than skinny ones. I don't think it makes a damn bit of difference, unless he's missing time to diabetes.
As John Kruk said "no one has ever gone on the DL with pulled fat".
If he were actually 6'4, 195, it wouldn't be a problem.
The B-R weights always make me laugh. According to them, David Wells was only 225 lbs.
For one thing, a player isn't the same weight over a long career (e.g., Hank Aaron), yet, only one weight is listed.
David Wells was 225... for a microsecond as he was soaring past it in between cheeseburgers.
Like Tony Gwynn, at 199 lbs?
Or Kirby Puckett, at only 210 lbs?
Kruk, 5'10, 204.
Pedro Martinez, 5'11, 170. Not bloodly likely, at this point.
Scott Eyre, 6'1, 160. No.
Hank Aaron, 6'0, 180. Not when he hit the home run.
Mickey Lolich, 6'0, 210.
Andruw Jones, 6'1, 170.
Miguel Cabrera, 6'2, 185.
