Justice: Carlos Lee loafed, and I’m not feeling so good myself

Wiping away the cloudy veil of mescahemp…I seem to remember booking The Carlos Lee Loafed at KNUP’S.

Carlos Lee loafed on an infielder grounder in the 10th inning. He presumed it was a routine out to the shortstop, but the ball was bobbled and Lee was caught looking bad.

(Good thing Pudge got that milestone when he did because it doesn’t look like there’s much left in the tank. He’s hitting about .150 this month and has had just one extra base hit. Poor guy. He may need a little pick-me-up from his old buddy Jose Canseco, who says he introduced Pudge to steroids a long, long time ago. Remember the Astros got him when Scott Boras called Drayton McLane. And then they got the baseball people involved. Nice way to run a railroad.)

This play wasn’t the worst thing that happened to the Astros Wednesday night in Arlington. There were again runners thrown out on the bases, errors, etc. If you care about the Astros, this should be an energizing time. Every ugly loss loves the franchise closer to the reckoning day that’s coming.

There may be days when the people in charge still convince themselves that everything is going to be OK, but mostly they seem to know it’s time for a course correction.

Bad news, Rich: You can't fire the owner.

You can, however, proof-read your own writing:

Every ugly loss loves the franchise closer...

I appreciate Carlos' ability to hit as much as anyone, but in all seriousness how do you tell when Carlos Lee is loafing? Because he plays at one speed outside the batters box and it's not exactly 78 rpm...........................

Doesn't Carlos Lee have an injured leg? That's why he's DHing.

rich has said more than a few times that you can't fire the owner

he has been more than critical of drayton's gross overmeddling and refusal to let any baseball people do their jobs

he is darn right about carlos loafing. my niece could outrun carlos but he really WAS loafing even for him on that play. to say the stros played BADLY last night is the understatement of the year.

he was the DH because jason michaels is suppoed to be this good/great gloveman. which he is not. from the games i have seen him play this year i will tell yall he is as bad if not worse than clank lee. and of course he is hitting worse than The Hated Brad Ausmus ever did

i'm starting to REALLY like richard. he decided this year to actually say what he thinks and talk like a baseball man/fan and i gotta say that i'm REALLY liking the change.

Jason Michaels was decent enough 5 years ago to fake CF. Has he regressed that much? I haven't seen him in a while, has he gotten too pudgy? (He always looked like he was fighting his waistline).

Carlos Lee was going half speed, only to speed up once he saw the bobble, and I felt at the time that it was inexcusable. If he had been safe at 1st base (not a certainty, even if ran full speed, which isn't very fast), the Astros would have scored a run in the 10th inning, and the Rangers might not have won the game.

As for Justice's comments about the Astros, he flip flops on a daily basis. I think he said last week, after the Astros' had won five straight series or whatever, that the Astros could make a great run at the division. He has been making these flip flops throughout the season. He is just like the fan who thinks his team is going to be a champion when they have a good game and then changes his mind to say they will be in last place after they have a bad game.

He is not flip-flopping; he is showing flexibility to deal with the changes in circumstances as they arise.

Gratitous reference to unsubstantiated steroid allegation on the night Pudge breaks the games-caught reference is jarring.

The title of the article includes "and I'm not feeling so good myself." People who are willing to click on and read a Justice piece, is that literal? Is he sick? Does it sound real bad? Please say yes.

No, he's DHing because he's a DH.

If someone leaks his name off the list now, there's still time for him to join in on Jose's class-action lawsuit!

actually i don't think richard REALLY flip-flops

he exaggerates a lot and is sarcastic and no matter WHAT position he takes, he is sure to get plenty of comments to say he is an idiot

when he is serious, he actually does take about the same position on stuff and when he changes his mind, he says so. like, for example, about bunting and stolen bases

he's MUCH better on the radio than in the paper. he surprised me fer SHER

and he is one of the VERY few MSM people who has had just as much bad to say about tejada's using roids as he did barry lamar/clemens/every other roid user. with richard it ain't just about the homers like it is with almost every other MSM

so i gotta respect that

but he still needs some eddication bout budzilla
