TORONTO | Royals general manager Dayton Moore skipped out of the club’s draft preparations this weekend to journey north of the border for a first-hand look at his struggling club.
His conclusion: There is no need for major changes. The Royals, as bad as things are right now, have no problems that can’t be fixed if the club’s current players begin to “perform at their accustomed level.”

Unfortunately, other than DeJesus, there aren't any Royals seriously underperforming expectations while Callaspo and Bloomquist at least are overperforming. OK, I guess Aviles can't be quite that bad -- he's in TPJ territory.
But at least both Greinke and Soria should make the AS team.
Why in the world should Soria be an all-star? He's been out much of the season and has the innings pitched of Papelbon, Rivera, Jenks and Nathan. He's been good when he's pitched for certain, but he has been so dominant that you can ignore the playing time issues.
Because this time it counts!!
And, really, Mariano "ERA of nearly 3.50" Rivera? And Bobby "I can't even strike out a man an inning" Jenks?
Also because I forgot to check the IP column. :-)
But semi-seriously, if they go with the 4 starter, 35 reliever staff for the AS game, I'd make him one of them.
