Not happening. There simply aren't that many situations where you really need a long reliever, and a lot of low-leverage situations where you can use the 11th and 12th man on your staff.

Would that still be true if you decided to pull your SP when they don't have it in the early going, instead of trying to force them through 5 IP?
I think teams should try to conserve IP when the pitcher is "off" and push him deeper in games when he's "on".
It is my totally unsubstantiated opinion than pitchers are more like to hurt themselves when they are "off" while going from 110 to 120 or 130 pitches when a guy is dealing doesn't add much stress.
