Marcus Giles detained after fight at Qualcomm

My love for you is ticking clock, BENIRSCHKE!

New Padres second baseman Marcus Giles was handcuffed, detained and escorted from Qualcomm Stadium during Sunday’s Chargers playoff game after getting involved in a fight on the stadium’s club level, according to police.

Giles, 28, was given the option of returning after being detained but chose to leave, said San Diego Police Lt. Dan Christman. Giles does not face charges for the incident.

Christman said Giles and a friend were involved in a fight with at least one other person, who slipped away before being caught.

That Giles uppercut can be viscious.

Reading between the lines, I figure the friend in question was maybe a lady? That'd explain why they didn't stomp the guy who ran, and also why Giles didn't rabbit when the stadium cops showed up.

In light of his contact rate last season, he probably swung and missed.

Ahh, a smug Patriot fan sighting on BTF. My week is complete.

I caught one Pats player, not sure who it was, running towards the SD bench grabbing his throat in the choke sign.

This was on FO.

Honestly, we have no idea what happened. It could have been a sitation where some threw a punch and MG threw one back. Still not great, but not terrible either.
