The Costas-Crystal crime ring must be stopped!
Burglars busted into Dan’s Sports Cards in Orange Park this morning and stole a set of baseball cards worth $50,000, including a rare rookie of New York Yankee Mickey Mantle.
Owner Dan Williams said the burglary at 2177 Kingsley Ave. occurred shortly before 3 a.m. He said someone cut power to the strip mall where his shop is located and then busted into the business by throwing a piece of concrete through the glass front door.
Once inside, the thief or thieves stole three display cases, including a full set of 1952 Topps cards, including the Mickey Mantle Rookie. Williams said the Mantle card is worth about $20,000. He placed the total loss at $100,000.
