MIL Journal-Sentinel: [Ryan] Braun close to returning for Sounds

Milwaukee Brewers third base prospect Ryan Braun, who has been “day to day” for nearly two weeks with wrist tendinitis, is close to returning to Class AAA Nashville’s lineup, farm director Reid Nichols said Wednesday.

“He has been taking batting practice. He should be ready any day,” said Nichols, who was in Salt Lake City to watch Nashville’s four-game series there.

Nichols said Braun had no specific injury to his left wrist. The Brewers’ first-round draft pick in 2005 developed tendinitis in the wrist and the decision was made to shut him down until it healed completely. He has not played since May 5.
...
Braun, who had trouble making accurate throws in spring training, has committed only two errors with the Sounds.

As the Brewers get their first skid of the season out of their system, some good news (besides Hardy’ 13th homer of the season)…

Is it safe to assume that if he returns to play in the next few days or within a week, and shows no ill effects from the injury, he could be up as soon as June 1? Are there any service time issues if he is called up around that time?

How long can Milwaukee stomach zero production at 3rd? It was cute while they were winning....but now...not so much.
