Missing - Former Major Leaguer On Lake Livingston

Jesse Hollins...more bad luck for the Cubs.

The search continues today for 39-year-old Jesse Edward Hollins of Willis, Texas, a former Major League Baseball player who apparently drowned while fishing below Lake Livingston Dam yesterday afternoon. Hollins is a native of Conroe.

Texas Game Wardens responded to a call of a possible drowning Thursday at approximately 3 p.m. They are joined by members of the Polk Co. Sheriff’s Office, Texas EquuSearch, the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Dive Team, the Trinity River Authority and the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department.

The Trinity River Authority has temporarily suspended discharges from Lake Livingston to aid searchers, who are using side-scan sonar and divers to search an area of the Trinity River that is several hundred yards wide and between 6 and 12 feet deep.

“This is a very popular fishing area, and there is a lot of debris in the water,” said Texas Game Warden Capt. Shawn Phillips. “It would be pretty easy to get tangled-up in something down there.”

Well bad luck for his friends and family. I don't see where the Cubs factor into it.

The Cubs gave up at least ten runs in each game he appeared in.
