with a Red Sox manager it's possible that if Jeter doesn't make the fan vote he may not make the team.
just thinking for a bit, is there any other SS in the AL who could conceivably beat Jeter out? Renteria could be outperforming him at the AS break, but he's too low profile. Same with Orlando Cabrera. Guillen isn't an SS anymore. Tejada's in the NL. Who's left? Eckstein? Peralta? Seriously, there seems to be a dearth of high-profile SS's is the AL.
