MLB.com: Braun playing through inner-ear infection

Ben Sheets doesn’t need to be giving his teammates some of his old ailments.  On the other hand, Braun had four hits and a HR against the Astros Friday.

[Ryan Braun] has been suffering from an inner-ear infection in his right ear that has left him feeling weak and dizzy since the team was in Boston for a three-game series May 16-18.

“I got it in Boston, haven’t gotten better since then,” Braun said. “There’s some fluid built up so I’ve been a little dizzy. It’s like that sensation when you get off a plane and your ear needs to ‘pop’ and it doesn’t for a week. It’s weird.”

Beyond the dizziness, Braun has been having trouble hearing out of his right ear.
...
“I’m dizzy so I’m not always seeing straight all the time,” Braun said. “It definitely doesn’t help.”

Seems to be doing okay with it: he's 4-4 today with a HR.

NTN mentioned that in the lead, unless I'm missing something.

Anyway, what was up with Prince's earplugs? I'm sure the announcing morons must have mentioned the reason, but I missed whatever it was.

Some sort of head cold. Been going around the team the last week.

Just going senile at age 24, nothing to see here.

Looks like the 2007 NL ROY is doing just fine. But meanwhile the 2007 AL ROY is starting to resemble A Berroa.

Meanwhile, in the minors:
Brad Nelson - who's been playing some 3B since the Branyan callup - went 3-4 for Nashville Friday. He's at .328/.439/.548 and is still only 25, despite seeming to be around forever; given his lefty bat and ability to play the outfield and the infield corners, he could see some MLB time this season.

Some more nice games at Huntsville Friday; that middle of the order is smacking the ball this season.
Gamel .386/.446/.682
Salome .385/.415/.590 (not a full season due to the suspension, of course)
LaPorta .285/.394/570
Errecart .301/.374/.554
Gillespie .283/.372/.522

As a team, Huntsville is hitting .302 with an OPS of .845, both numbers leading the Southern League by a good margin.
(On the pitching side, they're fourth in ERA in the league)

Brewers get six of the first 62 picks in this year's draft, too.

To be blunt be nice if they turned the perceived talent into some godd#mn wins at the big league level.

And inner ear infections? Head colds? We have a team of three year olds?

I'm Happy, the "Don't Do Stuff That Might Irritate Your Inner Ear" Badger!

Yeah, I can't think of two more similar players than Pedroia and Berroa.

I've always been just a little bit worried that Pedroia would follow a Marcus Giles career path.

Has anyone else noticed Bill Hall is having a worse defensive season at 3b than Braun did last year? That Hall contract was a mistake.

It sucks. I have one too. Fluid in your ear is no fun.
