Best Halloween costume I saw this year: A Trader Joe's cashier wearing a Wal-Mart uniform.
Where will they keep the snowplows, snowblowers and other groundskeeping equipment?
It depends. It has been between 40 and 60 degrees here in the past two weeks. There hasn't been any snow yet.
Usually the first major lasting snowfall happens around now. The last of the snow is generally around the end of March. April is nasty here, but mostly because the weather varies so much. If it snows it usually doesn't stay around.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: 95% of game-postponing weather issues with the new field will be due to severe weather in the summer. But primates who don't live here and have never been here know better, so don't take my word for it.
EDIT: By here I mean the Metro Area, where the field is, not the entire state.
As a sometime resident of St. Paul and Ramsey County, I would like to thank the residents of Hennepin County for footing the bill of this new outdoor stadium, which I shall enjoy when I visit family this summer!
Yeah, it is small. About the size of the average field here in Japan. Wrigley Field-type power alleys and Minute Maid Park-type corners. The ball will be jumping in the summer, but the stadium will probably play more neutral in the early and late months.
if you don't want any obstructed view, prepare to sit further away from the field, and round out the outfield fences. I agree you don't want obstruction, but I'd rather be closer and trade off some obstruction.
It's a tiny piece of land, squeezed between 2 rail lines, a freeway, and a parking ramp. I still think they are shy of 40,000 seats squeezed in there, even with the obstructed view. If they wanted to build a stadium with only good views, they couldn't have built it there, which means it probably wouldn't have been built at all..
The field looks so small. The Twins need to get some more groundball pitchers.

FWIW, the outfield dimensions/walls are very close to the Metrodome's....foul territory is much smaller, though. But yeah, with the summer heat, or even a decent breeze blowing out in the colder months, there will be a lot of balls taking flying out of there.
July
Trying to reproduce "old stadium" charm.
My wife and were waiting for the shuttle bus from the Metrodome back to the hotel for a night game in the first week of August. Both of us were saying - Holy s--- it's cold, I'm glad we were in a dome for the last three hours. It was probably in the 50s F.
