Mr. T Turns Down WWE Hall Of Fame Because Of Pete Rose

But will he have a problem with Playboy Buddy Rose and his shapely rikishian arse making it?

T, who tagged with Hulk Hogan to face Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff inWrestleMania 1’s main event, says he flatly refused the offer because he felt “insulted” by the presence of US baseball player Pete Rose - famously Tombstoned by Kane at WrestleMania XXIV - in the celebrity wing.

Speaking to Ringside in a rare video interview about his wrestling career, T said: “WWE asked me to be in the Hall of Fame and I turned it down. You know why? They put Pete Rose in the wrestling Hall of Fame. This guy can’t even get into his own Hall of Fame.”

Speaking during his UK Get Some Nuts tour, he continued: “After they put Rose in they came and asked me and I said “You don’t insult me! You don’t put Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame before me! I ain’t going to be a part of that.”

“They put him in and he only did one WrestleMania, and he didn’t even wrestle.

I was struggling to find the angle on how this relates to baseball until I remembered that Pete Rose used to play baseball. His post-ban personality really kinda supercedes his playing career for people that grew up after he retired like me.

I am pretty sure Pete Rose did not two, one, Wrestlemania appearences. I'm also pretty sure he was tombstoned by Kane not once, but twice at said events. I am further pretty sure that for I could convince Pete Rose to stand outside Yankee Stadium in the stocks, pleading forgivneness, were I to offer him enough money. I'm lastly pretty sure the right amount of money would be smaller than I would have first imagined.

If I know the WWE at all, this is just the beginning of a Mr. T/Pete Rose feud, culminating in a PPV event with HOF stipulations (if Mr. T wins, he gets into the WWE HOF and Rose is kicked out; if Rose wins, he shaves Mr. T's mohawk). After a DQ or two by each, whether outside interference or Rose losing a match on purpose because he bet against himself, a final no-DQ tag team streetfight is announced.

I pray that I'll live long enough to see it, because as sure as night follows day, I know that this will come to pass: Pete Rose will eventually be elected to the Hall of Fame, at which point he will then publish yet another autobiography, in which he will claim that he lied when he said he bet on baseball just so he could get into the Hall.

And then the debates will start all over again.

I just know that this is how the story will play out.

This is certainly debated, but my view is that Grey gave Rose a golden opportunity to be contrite at the moment that the largest number of people would most likely accept his apology. We all had a chance to rid ourselves of this issue one and for all right there, I even would have said, let's move on. Instead Rose cried like a b-tch.
