Oh, and Ray King, too. Ban him.
some of the guys who are now with a different team played with someone on the opposing team all the way thru the minors and maybe even into the majors and they are close friends OFF the field
you take a bunch of ultra-super competitive young males and i seriously doubt that when pitcher X is on the mound he look at the batter and think - oh wow, my poor friend - he Kd 3 times already AND made 2 errors - we're up by a few, think i'll groove him one cuz he my buddy my pal and our wives bf
Then show everyone that you're a better manager than Acta, and that the Mets would not be better off with Acta having your job.
I think he would and should absolute bean the guy who's his wife's bff.
Is what you say about Sheaciety
cuz he my buddy my pal and our wives bf
I think he would and should absolute bean the guy who's his wife's bff.
- grinning
all yall boys SOOOOOOOO freaked out about us grrrrls having a male bf. trust us he is our friend BECAUSE he's suuuuuch a good friend and we decided LONG ago we didn't wanna f**k him...
"He's not going to be in that tree all year," Randolph said of Pagan, who is also tied with David Wright for the team lead with 10 RBIs. "We've seen a lot of players come through the pike and do what Pagan's doing, so let's keep this in perspective."
Willie Randolph was disappointed when Beltran scratched himself from a game in Phoenix last May because of a sore quadriceps muscle with the Mets trying for a series sweep of the Diamondbacks. The manager believed Beltran's absence from that game - with teammates Moises Alou and Paul Lo Duca also sitting out - suggested a team-wide lack of killer instinct.
But as well as Figueroa has been pitching, Willie Randolph indicated even before the game that his time in the rotation, and perhaps even the big-league team, is limited. "I'm sure Figgie is going to get a couple of starts, and it could go longer than depending on when the other guys are ready," he said. "But he's not going to be here for an extended period of time."
Last may? WTF is he bringing up what happened last May? Or is he trying to use that as an excuse for the Mets collapse? And not his pathetic misuse of Sosa and Schoeneweiss, and his overuse of Mota?
so Randolph ####### about fraternization
and in Willie's day, Bob Gibson ####### about fraternization ("we never did that; that's the enemy")
and in Gibson's day, Bob Feller ####### about fraternization ("we never did that; that's the enemy")
and in Feller's day, Ty Cobb...
and so on
The biggest fights I ever had associated with sports were either with guys who were, at the time, my friends or who became my friends a within a few years. And that was at a time when these guys lived in different towns than me and we couldn't any of us drive. I can't imagine the friendships that must be out on the field every night the way the game is now. I also can't imagine not wanting to beat your friends (figuratively) heads in in a game. Just for pride.
Did he say that? No - tell me Willie did not say that.
It's in today's Star Ledger.
