MLB.com: Dodgers end eight-game slide

Manny Ramirez had four hits again Saturday night, his two homers helping the Dodgers end an eight-game losing streak with a 6-2 win over the first-place Diamondbacks, whose lead was trimmed to 3 1/2 games.

Ramirez, who was 4-for-4 with a walk Friday night, singled in the first inning off Dan Haren, hit a two-out solo homer in the third, doubled with one out in the fifth and scored on Matt Kemp’s 16th homer, hit the right-field foul pole with one out in the seventh for his ninth home run in 29 games as a Dodger and grounded out in the ninth.

Its obviously a lost season in San Diego, but it sure is fun watching los Dodgers tank. The friars have 9 games remaining against these bums, and no way they lay down for them. no way!

You know, if the Dodgers manage to pass the Dbacks, Ramirez is going to get some serious MVP consideration. 8-9 with a couple homers against a division rival is pretty incredible--especially if he can put up another big game tomorrow.

Rockies losing tonight, so they'll gain no ground on first.

Thanks, Padres, for winning and thus failing to gain ground on the Nationals (despite Washington's recent wins) in the Strasburg sweepstakes. The Nats are still 1 1/2 games worse than San Diego and Seattle (which also won).

Of course, if the Nats handle the Strasburg negotiations the same way they did Aaron Crow's, then, to borrow the Rev. Jesse Jackson's line from his 1984 "Saturday Night Live" appearance, the question is moot.

Or to paraphase Jackson's recent line, Nats fans will want to cut Bowden's nuts off.

Rox are 7 back in the loss column, which is what's used for calculating the "magic number."

Manny has made Dbacks pitchers his biatches

All the comments here about how Manny's not helping the Dodgers made him angry.

Think he might get paid well in the offseason? As I said at the time of the trade, four years, $74 million. With Boras as his agent, I could see him getting a good bit more.

Because he wouldn't; it's a Boston media and FO disinformation myth. Manny should sue.
