NL West race: September 7, 2008

MLB.com: Opportunistic Dodgers sweep D-backs

Arizona’s defense unraveled in a two-run seventh inning on Sunday that allowed the first-place Dodgers to complete a perfect homestand and series sweep with a 5-3 victory, extending their division lead over the Diamondbacks to 1 1/2 games and their winning streak to eight.

We never wanted to win the west, ha! Jokes on the Dodgers, we were too cool to even try, let those nerds go to the playoffs while we use our time off to date all the cheerleaders...

The Diamondbacks are collapsing like the 2007 Mets. 6 games lost in the standings since August 30th.

The D-backs have been collapsing since May. They can't even get that right.

Ladies and gentlemen, witness Bob Melvin, reigning Manager of the Year, in all his glory.

If people can say that CC should win the NL Cy Young then Manny can win the NL MVP.

The difference between Sabathia and Manny is that Sabathia got traded early. And really, I don't think he deserves the NL Cy Young.

ValueArb is a Diamondbacks fan? No wonder he was such a dick to me! Yay Dodgers!

Everybody should be.

Why would I stop? Why would anyone? I mean you must be used to similar treatment from many people repelled by those same illogical meanderings you mis-represent as "thoughts".

You take this whole thing fairly seriously, don't you?

Who, I say WHO, will prevail in the race to have the 14th best record in baseball?!? Can the Rangers and Marlins both beat out the Dbacks and Dodgers to make sure the NL West winner has the 15th best record in baseball? Is it really possible that two fourth-place teams with universally derided GMs, the Blue Jays and Astros, are both at least 3 games better than the NL West leader? Only September holds the answer!

So if the NL West winner has the 16th best record in the majors, would that mean that their draft pick was protected from being used as draft pick compensation?

Hey, the Blue Jays are in third place now. The Yankees are fourth!

Ah yes, nothing like the ad hominem attack directed at a relatively new member whose posts consist almost entirely of jokes you appear to be too dense to understand! Whoopee! There's no better way to prove your intellectual bona fides than to dismiss someone's entire body of mental enterprise without recourse to logic or engaging that wily beast irony in any but the most cursory of battles!

Now wasn't that fun?
